Little House Needle works

Hurray, finally I am able to complete on time the Little House Needle works project. This was started last year in February 2018, stitched probably 20% of it so and then restarted it again in Aug of 2019. Spent couple of hours stitching during the holidays and Weekends. This particular project was on my wish list for many years but once we moved to our new house in June, I got the inspiration to complete this project.

I made a 2 changes to make this more personal.

At the top I added or last Names - MARTHIS and I added one boy and one man on the right to represent out family. :)
Very soon we will be celebrating our 15th Anniversary and I decided to complete this project framed and ready to be hung in our living room before our Anniversary date. Eager to get this ready for framing, I sat for nearly 20 hours this week end to complete.... Guess what, I ran out of one of threads :(. So now I have to run in the evening to Hobby Lobby (closest shop for thread work) and get the missing color. Hoping to finish the piece, iron and hand it over to the framer hopefully by this weekend. Fingers crossed.....

So here are the some of the pics of how the progress happened since my last update on this project.
So this blog is something non-related to my usual stitching post. Few days back our team (with whom I work) arranged a baby shower for one of my colleagues - Mr. Y and the moment I came to know about the plan, I decided to do something DIY project for the event. Believe it or not, it is a lot of fun and joy doing such DIY projects for the near and dear ones. There are some beautiful DIY projects out there on the web but I have to choose the one where Mr. Y also feels comfortable with the stuff that we use. With him being quite Introvert, I have to be extra careful that I don't go over the board and finally here is what I came up with.

I am glad the event was a lot of fun and Mr. Y<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; display: inline; float: none; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;"> and the whole team had a good fun. BTW, the best part was when Mr. Y was reading out those beautiful messages (some of those messages are very creative) :)
Here are few pics of the items that I have put together for the event.
So here I am with my update since my last post on the Little House Neighbourhood. It is always fun to see the progress and feel that the project is one step closer to completion. As this project is very much divided into sections on its own, my goal is to complete the atleast one section every weekend. And here is my update from the week end of 8/17/2019.

As a side note, it is so much joy to sit in the front patio overseeing the park right across the street and stitching this project :)
Finally got some time to post an update on the Little House Needlework. Since my last update on Little House Neighborhood, I started the project on 2/13/2018. Huh.... yes it is almost 18 months back that I started this project. But worked on this piece on the month Feb of 2018 and shelved it until today. There are many reasons why I was unable to continue on this project (some good and some not so good reasons). Finally here I am dusted of the project and started working on for couple of hours today (8/10/2019). Here are few pictures on its progress.....

And today I worked on most of the top left house.

If you have glanced through my blog, you will see that most of my projects are from Nora's or Mirabilia charts. I think after a very long time, I am doing non-Mira project and for sure this project is quite easy compared to Mira projects. As you can see, most of the stitching is in blocks and is so much easy x-stitch without any fear of miscounting. I am excited to now complete this project and display it in my living room at the earlier. :)

Happy X-stitching......

Wow.... it has been almost 2+ years that I have blogged anything about my stitching nor did I do any stitching. Few days back, I saw a finished piece of Italian Lady (Designer - Sharon Christine designs ; Framing - Jill Rensel) and was awestruck at the beautiful piece. Felt inspired and motivated to start a new cross-stitch.

So went back to my stitching shelf to dust off and see what should I do. Reorganized my threads and felt rejunenated to see the organized thread box. :) Looked at some of the patterns that I completed in the past or wanted to do at some point in the future. And there is a WIP - Bluebell pixie (Designed - Nora Corbett). Finally decided to go with my 2 ever lasting projects on to do list -

1. Isabella's garden (Designed - Lavender & Lace) - Ordererd the required stash for this project and this will be my next project that I will do.
2. Little House Neighborhood (Designed - Little House Needlework) - Ordered pattern and fabric.

These 2 projects has been on my to-do list for a very long time and what better way to get inspired to start these now than latter.

So yes.... as soon as the stash is at my door step, I am on to Isabella's garden. :)

Happy Stitching.

ECSTATIC - Yes, I am totally over the 9th cloud seeing my dream project - Spring Queen, Holly and Rose Pixie. Absolutely no words to say. Nor do these pics can shout out loud how beautiful they look. All three framed on 10/29/2015 from a local framer - Mario's Bay Frames. I highly recommend this framer as he has good collection of frames and matting. To top it, he also has an artistic eye.

The best compliment was when my husband was awe-struck seeing Frame Spring Queen pic. His expression and words were "Did you make this ? " :) Now I am all charged to work on my WIP - BlueBell Pixie.

So, got some inspiration to get back to my stitching. Have started Bluebell Pixi sometime during the middle of 2014 but then it has been couple of months that I did any more progress on this front. Finally got to do about 6 hours of stitching today and here is the progress sofar that I have on Bluebell Pixie. Did some whites, and her legs. Ofcourse, Mr frog has crept in without my knowledge and it took some time to convince Mr Frog that he reached wrong address. Watch out you stitchers, Mr Frog is on its way to next house. :)
wishing you all a ver hapy new year. And I really wish each one of you reading this blog post a happy and healthy to all your famil members.

So what happened in 2014 -

Finished spring queen. Yes only one project was complete in 2014.

Moved to our new owned home.

Lessons learnt in 2014 and goals for 2015-

Health is smore important than anything in life. Do what ever it takes to be healthy nd maintain good health for your near and dear ones as well.

Maintain budgets for your spending. Bring all the budgets under control. Spend money after saving what is budgeted. Not saving after spending.

Look for a new job. Though we love what we do, it is not sufficient if it is not paying the bills for you. At the end of the day, you still have bills to pay for and you can't escape from them. So my next and one of the most important goals is to find one.

Spend less time on any means of social media (facebook, Skype, Internet etc) and more time with family members, stitching, learning something new related job etc.

Finish Bluebell pixie and start on the next mirabilia - biancebella.

Hope you all also have set aside your goals for 2015 and wish you strive towards reaching your goals.

Happy stitching - :)

Wow....didn't realize that it is almost 3 months that I posted on my stitching blog. Too bad. Well.....trying to convince myself by saying that things are pretty hectic on a personal front. One of the important things to share is that I sold off my first home (am glad that the transaction went as smooth as I can hope her though I feel really bad to sell it). On a happier note, I bought another bigger and newer flat in my dream city where I plan to retire.

On a stitching front, I think I should be having all the stash needed for me to start working on Bluebell Pixie. So this will be next WIP while I start gathering my stash for Binacebella and Buttercup pixie. They seem to be very pretty though seem to be very expensive.

See you all in my next post when I start updating my BlueBell Pixie updates.....

Happy Stitching..... :)

I am literally falling short of words to describe how beautiful my third Mira - "Spring Queen" looks like. Until I started on her bead work, I was happy how she was but once I started beading, I was literally ecstatic. She is an absolute pleasure to stitch her. I started beading on her on 2/8/2014 around 10:00 AM and with occasional breaks I completed all her beading by around 11:30 PM. Just couldn't put her down to some other day once I started to bead her. She is absolute stunning piece, and if I get a chance to get it framed from Jill Rensel, then I am sure there is nothing in this world to compare / describe her beauty. And it will truly become as my 6 yr old said - "She is sparkling as nothing in this world"...... :) Here are some pics of her.

Here is the latest pic of Spring Queen. I was hoping to complete her in 2013 but obviously she wanted to be pampered a little even in 2014. I have to cover up a little bit in the center(missing one row of it) on one of the leaves areas. I hope it is NOT obvious.
I hope all the stitcher community had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and looking forward to a very Happy New Year. From my side, yes we did have a wonderful time with my sister's family, spent some time at Vegas and now back to home. Eager to finish my Spring Queen by New Year so that I can start working on my next Mira project. (Still haven't decided what that next big project will be). I have some update on Spring Queen that I might share in my next post. Also getting my Rose and Holly Pixies framed.

Though it has been a while that I posted my update on Spring Queen, there is not much progress to be shown until this past Thanks Giving weekend. Here is what I have so far on Spring Queen. Most of the part above the ribbon is what I have done in the last couple of days and I would say 60% of it was done just during the Thanks Giving weekend alone. If you notice, there is an unstitched part at the center and I left it like for that for now is because I did some mistake in that section and I have to figure out on how to correct it or cover it. Atleast I isolated the mistake only to that portion of it. I hope I will not make that mistake to be too obvious once I am done. :)

Finally after almost 7 months of putting away my favorite hobby (had some really good times and some were really worst times), got inspiration to pick Rose and make her reach the finish line. So here she is - would have reached the finish line.....if the back-stitch thread didn't run out of stash....... Now I have to shop for a DMC for back-stitching. No wonder, Mira or Nora design look ever beautiful and richly once the beads are added. This is my third Pixie (First being Evening Primrose and second being Waterlily).
No complaints but these days, I am able to do stitching only on weekends. So the last two days I was working on her hair, wings and legs. Now only her hands and face is pending and they she will ready for her final finishes with back stitching and beads.
After taking up a new job in finance, I hardly get time to do household chores (Well trying to get some lame excuse for my laziness). Now I am able to do stitching only on weekends. So this weekend, I have done some more progress on her dress. Seems to be a bit of challenge to do her pink dress though it is lovely especially with pink color variations being so close to each other. Just wanted to get over with her dress before I can move on to her wings, hands, legs and head.

Will be posting a picture of the latest soon. But again most likely my next update will be again on the weekend.
Happy Stitching...... :)
